Oh, crap.
Sooo...

I happened to notice that the guy who plays Moriarty in the new Sherlock (aka creepiest villain ever in an oddly cute way, and also very, very gay) also plays Paul McCartney in Lennon Naked (which is not a porn movie featuring John Lennon, unfortunately, but a rather terrible documentary about his meeting with Yoko).

His name is Andrew Scott and he's a great actor, but...

this is where it goes awry. My brain now half-managed to convinced itself that Paul McCartney is James Moriarty. Add to that the fact that his name is actually James Paul McCartney, that he does the gay handflip at least as nicely as Scott and that 'Wonderful Christmas Time' was evidently a ploy to dominate the world (Obvious </Sherlock voice>) and we have a WINNER!

(yes, of course I took my pills, why do you ask?)

cut for minor spoilers for Sherlock, arch enemies in their pjs, bad music, John Lennon being rude and random stuff. Ah, what else is new...

I mean, how is this NOT EVIL?

Oh, and don't try to be cute, now....

aaaand random stuff.

Best icon ever :

And I re-watched the first American tour. Lol at the journalist asking Lennon what the song they've just put out is called 21548751 times.

I haven't watched "Lennon Naked" entirely either. I stood about half of it and then stopped because I thought it was rather terrible. I don't know, it rings very false and forced to me, the guy that plays John sounds like a bad caricature more than John himself...

STILL. It was worth it for the lulz of Paul McCartney as the Napoleon of crime ^^

HAHA, I think I must see this documentary.

I only know the actor from Mad Men, I think he's a very interesting choice for Moriarty.

Well, as I said to the person above, I didn't like this documentary so much, I thought the guy who played Lennon didn't get him at all, and sounded more like a bad impersonator than anything. If you want to see a good Lennon movie I'd advise "Nowhere Boy" instead ^^ but of course, no McCartney/Moriarty in this one.

I haven't see Mad Men but I did think he was making a splendid job out of it. I mean, I never found Moriarty especially creepy or even charismatic, in the books he's just an old, posh and clever guy who like building elaborate traps and stuff. In the show they really made him quite the personality. Not the mention to whole weird gay-ness. I flail every time, lol.

I thought it sounded sort of entertainingly bad, lol, but on second thought I should probably pass and check out that other one.

Yeah, you got to give Doyle credit for pretty much inventing the archenemy with Moriarty, but there's not much more to him in canon than just being a stock example of that kind of character. I love how this version is creepily half-infatuated with Sherlock, it's not only fun flail-worthy subtext but makes the relationship more interesting in light of how this series has a lot of emphasis on the idea that Sherlock could almost be a criminal himself.

Yes, "Nowhere Boy" is really a good movie! Get the tissues though because it's rather sad, uh.

I agree with this, iN ACD Moriarty seems to be the archetype of the arch-enemy but apart from this he has nothing special. I loved the homosexual innuendo in the pool scene, and I also agree with the fact that Sherlock and Moriarty have more in common than one could suspect, which is always nice for a hero/villain relationship. See for instance this "You'd be very happy together" comment by John, which seems to irk Sherlock quite a lot!

That icon is making me cry tears of laughter.

Right? It's freaking awesome. Feel free to steal it, wish I knew who to credit for it, though...

Well, "Lennon naked" was terrible imo, but he does make a cute/obnoxious/stoned-like-you wouldn't-believe McCartney ^^

I haven't seen him in anything else but I LOVED his take on Moriarty. So much more adorable and creepy that I'd ever seen him. And the things he does with his voice, wow. Lovely accent and brilliant acting!

Holy hell, love. When you update your LJ you update it right. That was a beautifully crack-y insight to your mind. Loved it. ^___________^

And as much as I love Christmas music, I'll be the first to admit that "Wonderful Christmas Time" is evil. (and I'm only like 1/2 kidding)

And the icon...oh my God. Like giggle-snort much louder than intended at get weird looks type of funny (I skimmed through this yesterday at school but I'm lazy about commenting sometimes) .

^_^

well, I've added a lot of new friends these days so I decided to post more often, like maybe once or twice a week for your obligatory dose of crack lol

And I agree. WCT is the worst Christmas song EVER and this icon is entirely too awesome for its own sake. I wonder whether it comes from a show or a movie, though... that'd be worth watching it!
